Leixlip Disability Access Group with County Kildare Access Network (CKAN) would like to thank everyone who helped and everyone who came and enjoyed our Christmas events this weekend.
Sensory Santa Event
On Sunday 30th of November we had a Sensory Santa Event in the Court Yard Hotel. Families came to visit Santa with their booking. We had a quiet waiting room with sensory toys for each family to spend some quiet time alone as they awaited meeting Santa. Santa had gifts and chocolate for everyone. A huge thank you to everyone who helped: The Court Yard Hotel for the facilities and all their help – it was fantastic working with you. The Men’s Shed – our volunteers who helped in the preparation and on the Day. Santa – and his helper Elf: thank you, you were great. To CKAN, to Kildare County Council huge thanks for all the support. To Maynooth Access Group thank you for loaning us some of the Our World toys.
Winter Wonderland Window
We have a Winter Wonderland Window on Main Street Leixlip. Thank you to Ciara Chapman, a Disabled Artist, for working with us to do this, and to Maynooth Access Group for creating an Inclusive Santa Scene. Pop down and see it, it lights up approx 4-9pm each day.
We look forward to Thursday when we launch our Inclusive PlayPark in Leixlip!
Thank you to all the Schools who have their CKAN flag flying for Disability Awareness.
