About Us
County Kildare Access Network (CKAN) is unique in its approach towards collaboration and partnership. The network consists of representatives from the 7 local access groups across county Kildare. The groups are comprised of disabled people, carers, community volunteers, local councillors and disability organisations. CKAN is chaired by Kildare County Councils Access Officer. This unique approach ensures that all relevant stakeholders voices are heard and helps to inform, identify and action.
The network is seen as a means of giving direction, sharing information and best practice between the local access groups. The group has developed its own branding including logo and have also designed their own signage and flag which is flown across over 250 locations during Kildare Disability Week.
