The Brownie Branch Committee of Irish Girl Guides, in partnership with Maynooth Access Group (MAG), are organizing a National Disability Awareness Day for Brownies. The Our World programme is an initiative created by MAG which aims to educate children through play about disabilities, both visible and invisible, and it will be an essential part of this event.
Brownies from all over Ireland will join together on Saturday, 9th November 2024, in the IMMA, Kilmainham, Dublin. They will have the opportunity to play with toys from MAG’s toy library and learn about different disabilities and also the challenges faced by people with disabilities. They will discuss ways to help, (or as the Brownie motto says “Lend a Hand”), to ensure access and inclusion for all. They will also learn some sign language on the day. An event not to be missed!
